Dr. Smt. Asmita Advait Vaidya

Principal, GLC, Mumbai 

Smt. Dr. Asmita Vaidya, is a visionary leader, skilled administrator, and dedicated educationist. With over 25 years of experience in the academic and social sectors, she has consistently driven impactful reforms and initiatives. Before joining Government Law College, Mumbai, Dr. Vaidya served as the Head of the Law Department at NMD College, Gondia, and as the Principal of Thakur Law College. Throughout her journey, she has excelled in diverse leadership roles, collaborating with faculty and staff to introduce innovative programs that enhance both academic and institutional growth.
 

A gold medallist and university topper in both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, she holds an MBA in Human Resource Management and earned her PhD in Industrial Law in 2009. Her accomplishments have been recognised through prestigious awards, including the ‘Tejaswini’ Award, the ‘Nation Builder Award, and the ‘Top Educator Award 2022’ by the Rhythem Group.
 

Beyond academia, Dr. Vaidya is also a passionate social activist, working tirelessly to effect positive change and empower communities. Her leadership continues to inspire and shape the future of legal education at our college.

Prof. Rooprekha Chhabria

Faculty-in-charge, SPIL Mumbai

Professor Chhabria is a distinguished academic and a dedicated mentor, whose profound knowledge and unwavering commitment to the field of International Law have greatly enriched our academic community.

Her extensive expertise and passion for fostering legal education have inspired countless students to pursue excellence in their studies and careers. Under her guidance, SPIL has thrived, organising numerous successful events and initiatives that have significantly contributed to the promotion and understanding of international law.

Asst. Prof. Rohit Bokil

Faculty-in-charge, SPIL Mumbai

Mr. Rohit Bokil graduated from ILS Law College in 2014. Mr. Bokil completed his LL.M from Savitribai Phule University in 2017 with a specialisation in International Law and Human Rights. Before joining GLC as an Assistant Professor, he taught Public International Law and its other branches at ILS Law College, Pune from 2018 to 2024.

 

Mr. Bokil also holds a Diploma in International Humanitarian Law from NALSAR, which he passed with distinction. In 2018 he participated in a summer course on International Criminal Law organised by Salzburg Law School, Salzburg, Austria. He is currently pursuing his PhD from Symbiosis International University on the topic of Autonomous Weapons and IHL.


Mr. Bokil has published articles in national as well as international journals on varied themes of international law. He has written for daily newspapers like Sakal and Maharashtra Times on different topics of international law. 


Mr. Bokil also frequently participates and presents at many national and international conferences and seminars.

 

Mr. Bokil’s areas of interest includes Public International Law, International Humanitarian Law, International Criminal Law, International Human Rights Law and Jurisprudence.

Mr. Shoaib Shaikh

President, SPIL, Mumbai

Shoaib is a third-year law student at Government Law College, Mumbai, enrolled in the 5-year integrated programme, with a profound interest in philosophy. Alongside his legal studies, Shoaib has completed a Bachelor of Arts degree and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts remotely through IGNOU. His academic pursuits span a diverse array of disciplines, including history, psychology, political science, sociology, and public administration, all of which inform his analytical approach to the law. Shoaib's commitment to intellectual exploration is reflected in his deep engagement with literature, world cinema, and global affairs, nurturing a unique perspective that enriches his work within SPIL Mumbai.

Ms. Anuja Adukathil

Vice-President & Chief Managing Editor, SPIL, Mumbai 

Anuja is a persistent third-year BA LLB student at GLC, Mumbai with a keen passion for humanitarian law. Apart from academics, she has dedicated several years of her life in mastering the dance forms of Bharatanatyam and Mohiniattam. While she finds some free time for herself, she indulges herself into novels reading a spectrum of genre from crime thrillers to fantasy and fiction. Additionally, she is also an ardent fan of anime. She tries to find an escape from the digital world going on hikes and admiring its beauty.

Ms. Sanika Bhoye

Secretary, SPIL Mumbai

Sanika is a third-year BA LLB student who is dedicated to expanding her knowledge within the field of law and deepening her understanding of both domestic and international legal frameworks. Certified in DELF A2 level of French, she is currently advancing her proficiency by pursuing the B1 level. Alongside her studies, she has a vibrant passion for music and enjoys learning various instruments. Additionally, she has a keen interest in exploring different cultures and traveling, broadening her perspective and enriching her legal education.

Ms. Mahek Mulani

Treasurer, SPIL, Mumbai

Mahek is a dedicated third-year BA LLB student at GLC, Mumbai, with a strong interest in finance and a focus on international economics. She is captivated by numbers and their influence on the global economy. Outside her studies, Mahek enjoys playing the piano, reading a wide range of books, and exploring both familiar and new places, whether in bustling cities or quieter scenic spots. Her love for travel inspires her to experience different cultures and perspectives. While she appreciates the vibrant energy of city life, Mahek also values spending time in nature, finding peace and inspiration in the outdoors.

Mr. Aditya Kumar

Core Member, SPIL Mumbai

Aditya Kumar is a law student at the Government Law College, Mumbai, graduating from the Class of 2027. His research interests include International Investment Laws, Corporate and Commercial Laws and Technology Laws. He writes frequently on international law and corporate laws. Apart from his coursework, Aditya also extensively participates in ADR competitions and moot court competitions. In his leisure time, he prefers reading books on history, art and culture and appreciating movies.

SPIL puts great effort into spreading information about international law and treaties as they conduct quizzes and post on Instagram. It organise events to spread awareness about international law, which is why I joined SPIL. As I wanted to enhance my knowledge on international law. It also diversifies my interests and future career aspects as I would know more about the fields of international law.

Hello, this is Tejal Sawant, a Junior Core Member of SPIL Committee. Making a significant contribution to the field of international law is something I'm excited about as a second-year law student at Government Law College. Yash Pratap Singh, a third-year student at Government Law College, is a learner with a keen interest in Ancient Indian History, Hindi Poetry, Military History and the complex realms of Geo-Politics and International Affairs. His curiosity in global dynamics was deepened through a summer course in International Law at the renowned Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi, sparking a strong passion for the field.
