

Dr. Smt. Asmita Advait Vaidya

Smt. Dr. Asmita Vaidya, is a visionary leader, skilled administrator, and dedicated educationist. With over 25 years of experience in the academic and social sectors, she has consistently driven impactful reforms and initiatives. Before joining Government Law College, Mumbai, Dr. Vaidya served as the Head of the Law Department at NMD College, Gondia, and as the Principal of Thakur Law College. Throughout her journey, she has excelled in diverse leadership roles, collaborating with faculty and staff to introduce innovative programs that enhance both academic and institutional growth.
A gold medallist and university topper in both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, she holds an MBA in Human Resource Management and earned her PhD in Industrial Law in 2009. Her accomplishments have been recognised through prestigious awards, including the ‘Tejaswini’ Award, the ‘Nation Builder Award, and the ‘Top Educator Award 2022’ by the Rhythem Group.
Beyond academia, Dr. Vaidya is also a passionate social activist, working tirelessly to effect positive change and empower communities. Her leadership continues to inspire and shape the future of legal education at our college.
Dr. Monish Tourangbam

Dr. Monish Tourangbam is the Director of the Kalinga Institute of Indo-Pacific Studies (KIIPS). Formerly, he was an Associate Professor at the Amity Institute of International Studies, Amity University, Noida and Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. He was also an Associate Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi and Associate Editor of the Indian Foreign Affairs Journal of the Association of Indian Diplomats. He was a Visiting Faculty at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio and a SAV Visiting Fellow at the Stimson Center, Washington D.C. He has been part of several Track II Dialogues. He was an
International Observer of the Russian Presidential Election in 2018 and an Indian delegate at a BRICS Exchange Programme (2017), Beijing. He delivers lectures on Diplomacy at the Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi. He has written for the Institute of South Asian Studies, Stimson Center, The Diplomat, Institute of Security and Development Policy, Asian Confluence, The Print, Financial Express, Indiatimes and many others. He holds an M.Phil and Ph.D in American Studies from the School of International Studies, JNU.


Prof. M. Gandhi

Prof. M. Gandhi is one of the Vice presidents of the Indian Society of International Law. He was a former Professor & Dean of VIT School of Law, VIT Chennai. He has also served as Professor and Executive Director, Centre for International Legal Studies in O P Jindal Global University, Sonepat, NCR Delhi, after a long stint in the Ministry of External Affairs, where he retired as a Joint Secretary (L&T) and Legal Adviser.
He is an accomplished teacher and practitioner of International Law. He was a member of the legal team in the Aerial Incident Case (1999) (Pakistan v. India ) decided by the ICJ in India's favour. He has also served as a Legal adviser, at the Permanent Mission of India, New York, representing India in the VI (Legal) Committee of the UNGA. He has participated in a number of International Conferences and Working Groups on International Law representing the Government of India. He has been mentoring reputed Law Schools in India.
Professor M Gandhi has a Master's Degree in Political Science from Madurai Kamaraj University and B.L., M.L., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Madras. Under the Colombo Plan, he was trained in Legal Advice and Legislative Drafting by the Institute of
Advanced Legal Studies, University of London. He was also a UNITAR visiting scholar at Columbia University, New York. He has contributed research articles and book chapters in international law to books and journals published in India and abroad.
