CALL FOR PAPERS

SPIL Mumbai invites the submission of papers on a diverse range of topics within the fascinating field of international law. Our initiative aims to provide various opportunities for enriching your understanding of international law through legal writing. The research and presentation process allows participants to grasp fundamental concepts clearly, while honing their ability to coherently present their research and formulate well-informed opinions on matters of international law.

We invite all members of the legal fraternity, including practitioners, professors, and students, to submit original academic works for the GLC-SPIL International Law Journal.

GUIDELINES

Categories and Word Limits

  1. Articles:

    • It must comprehensively analyse a specific issue, evaluate the status quo, identify any gaps, and suggest potential solutions.

    • It may employ comparative, historical, or multi-disciplinary approaches.

    • Word limit: 6000 to 10000 words (exclusive of footnotes).

  2. Essays:

    • It should be concise in scope and conceptualisation.

    • Word limit: 4000 to 6000 words (exclusive of footnotes).

  3. Case Notes and Legislative Commentaries:

    • Discuss or critique recent judgements, landmark cases, or recent legislation/bills.

    • Word limit: 1500 to 3000 words (exclusive of footnotes).

 

Submission Guidelines

  • Referencing: The ILJ follows the ‘Harvard Bluebook 20th Edition’ style of referencing. The manuscript body should be in Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and justified alignment. Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, size 10, with single spacing.

  • Abstract: Every submission must include an abstract of not more than 200 words, summarising the manuscript. The abstract is not included in the word limit.

  • Originality: Submissions must be original and unpublished. Plagiarised articles shall be rejected.

  • Anonymity: The manuscript must not contain any indication of the author's identity. Biographical information should be provided in the email content, including Name, Qualification, Email Address, and Postal Address, to ensure a fair review process.

  • Review Process: All manuscripts will undergo a rigorous review process. Failure to pass the review process will result in disqualification.

  • Authorship: Submissions can be co-authored by a maximum of two authors.
